Man killed in car accident Friday failed to stop at intersection

Thomas Keith King, 50, of 3685 E. Ridge Road, was driving in his 1995 Honda Civic on Lincolnton Road around 9:15 p.m. when he drove past a stop sign at N.C. Carl Joseph Finney, 26, of 1630 Barringer Road, was driving his 2006 Ford F-150 pickup on N.C. The report says King failed to yield the right of way and disregarded a stop sign. King was not wearing a seat belt. The posted speed limit on the road is 35 mph, King was traveling 40 mph. His car traveled nearly 500 feet after being hit. Finney was wearing a seat belt, his airbag did deploy. His wife, Carla Finney, 29, and their daughter, Mahayla, 9, were also in the car. Finney was traveling 45 mph. His truck ran off the road to the right. King was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center, where doctors later pronounced him dead. What do you think?
